Kings Hall Parliament House
Kings Hall Parliament House
King's Hall forms a gracious space in the heart of Old Parliament House in Canberra, now the Museum of Australian Democracy, and boasts a tall coffered ceiling, clerestory windows, white plaster walls with intricate mouldings, colonnades & decorative skylights. The original timber floor of basket weave Jarrah parquetry with inlaid Mountain Ash edge detailing gives a rich contrast to the lightness of the room.
The hall is a truly majestic setting and was the hub of the original Parliament building. It came to symbolise the openness of parliamentary democracy and representative government in Australia.
